Washoe Emergency Generator Project-Notice to Contractors




NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received at the office of the Talmont Resort Improvement District, 2010 Silver Tip Drive, Tahoe City, California, until the hour of 8:30 A.M., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024; alternatively, bids may be submitted via email to LibbyGregg4@aol.com anytime prior to the stated deadline, whence they will remain unopened until the TRID Board convenes their meeting on March 12, 2024, at 8:30 A.M., at which time all bids will be publicly opened, examined, and declared for performing the following Work:

Work:  Construction of emergency generator facilities as set forth in the Contract Documents entitled WASHOE EMERGENCY GENERATOR PROJECT.

Location of the Work:  Washoe Well at 1660 Washoe Way, Tahoe City, CA.

All Work must be completed within 60 calendar days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed.

Said work shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents therefore on file in the District’s office.

Bids shall be addressed “District Secretary, Talmont Resort Improvement District, 2010 Silver Tip Drive, P.O. Box 1294, Tahoe City, California, 96145”, and endorsed “Sealed Bid, WASHOE EMERGENCY GENERATOR”, and emailed or delivered to the District Secretary by or before 8:30 A.M., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

Each bid must contain evidence of bidder’s qualifications to do business in the State of California.  The license classification shall be Class A – General Engineering.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the bid security in the form of a certified or cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of 10 percent of the Total Bid price payable to Talmont Resort Improvement District as a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will promptly execute the agreement.

This project is a public works project and is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Depart men t of Indus trial Relations (DIR ), in accordance with the State of California Labor Code (Labor Code) Section 1770, et seq. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public works on a public works project unless registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5.

In accordance with the provisions of California Labor Code Section 1773, as amended, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in accordance with the standards set forth in Section 1773 for the locality in which the work is to be performed.  Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages may be found on the DIR website at https://www.dir.ca.gov. It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the work is awarded and upon any subcontractor under the Contractor to pay not less than said specified rates to all workmen employed by them in the execution of the contract.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible, qualified bidder as it may best serve the interests of the District.

The Engineer’s Estimate is $ 55,000.00.

There will be no pre-bid conference.

Bidders are hereby notified that in accordance with the provisions of Government Code Section 4590 securities may be substituted for any monies, which the District may withhold pursuant to the terms of the contract to insure performance.
