TALMONT RESORT IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
Sept. 1, 2018 – 9:00 A.M.
ANNUAL MEETING 2018
Maintenance Building, Talmont
1. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 9:00AM by Howard Perry.
Directors Present: Howard Perry, Larry Anderson, Kym Pipkin, Jim Henderson, Leigh Ann Cullen
Others Present: Libby Gregg, Rick Dewante, Willi Dodge
2. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO AGENDA – In Accordance with Section 54954.2(b) of
the Government Code (Brown Act) an item may be added to the agenda.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT: Any person wishing to address the Board of Directors on items of interest to Talmont Resort Improvement District not listed on the agenda may do so at this time. It is requested that comments be brief as possible, since no action may be taken by the Board on items addressed under Public Comment.
4. OLD BUSINESS :
President Howard Perry introduced himself and board members and staff. He spoke of the last years improvements which included recoating of the Silvertip Tank, cleared dead trees on Montclair and Silvertip properties, generator for the maintenance building to name a few. The driveway is going to be torn up and repaved, a new pickup truck was purchased to replace the Unimog, fire pump at Montclair station to be finished soon.
5. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS:
Year end financial report: Rate increase will take effect with the October billing, 8% for waer, 3% for snow to cover increased expenses and depreciation.
6. SNOW REMOVAL REPORT:
Willi Dodge spoke about the driveway repaving, new fuel tank and pickup truck will also service Montclair generator. Equipment all ready for winter. Generator will help in power outages.
7. WATER MANAGERS REPORT:
Rick spoke about the lengthy process to paint the interior of the tanks, dive inspection, sandblast and inspect every step of the way. Two other tanks have been dived and inspected. Fire pump at Montclair will enable fire surpression fire throughout the system, electrical work to be completed in September. No positive bacti, chlorinated after TCPUD Contractor broke main line. Well level has risen since 2017.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The business portion of the annual meeting was adjourned at 9:30AM.
9. GUEST SPEAKERS:
Mike Vollmer, Forester, NT Fire talked about fire danger and the new approach to fireproof your home also. He stated your structure should have a 5’ clear zone around first, proper roof. An evacuation plan in place is a necessity, have am/fm radio for warnings. Juan Carlos at the Tahoe Conservancy can be contacted for more information on clearing your lots.
